Stupid Video of the Week: Catapult Coyote
Tuesday, May 15th, 2007Hey Guys, here’s your video for the week:
Ah….my favorite cartoon character of all time, Wile E. Coyote. Of all the things that have gone wrong with inventions he’s either designed or purchased from ACME, he’s only managed to catch the road-runner once (see below).
In life, we pursue the American Dream. We want the biggest houses, the nicest cars, the finest clothes and the best of friends. There’s only one problem….It may not be worth pursuing.
What would you do if you actually had the American Dream?
In the 1990’s a garage band by the name of Nirvana rose to fame almost overnight. Their lead singer, Kurt Cobain was a guy about whom most people would have said he had everything. This quote was written just after the birth of his new baby, at a time when Nirvana was the most popular band in the world and literally millions of people would have done nearly anything just to spend 15 minutes with this man. Yet here he is, just three months before he killed himself, crying out for help:
“All I want is friends that I can talk to and hang out with, just like I’ve always dreamed, we could talk about books and politics and vandalize at night, want to? I can’t stop pulling my hair out! Please! God, Jesus Christ Almighty, love me, love me, we could go on a trial basis, please I don’t care if it is the out of the in crowd, I just need a crowd a gang, a reason to smile. Temper…temper…temper. Sometimes we never learn. We let our frustrated minds take over our actions and we end up doing stupid things that hurt ourselves and others around us.
God wants us to tame our tempers. Proverbs 15:18 says, “Losing your temper causes a lot of trouble, but staying calm settles arguments.” (CEV)
Try to tame your temper this week and stay calm through the midst of all of your trials lest you getinto trouble and end up getting hurt really bad.
