Hey gang,
We made it here and things are going really well. God is moving in an incredible way among our students and sponsors and I gotta tell you, this year excites me more than any other year has so far at CIY. We have already had some mended relationships among our students and we even have one student contemplating baptism. Praise GOD !!!!!! We’ll get back toyou later in the week. Keep praying for us that God will break our hearts for him and MOVE us toward him through his Holy Spirit and into Community keeping us Bold for Him. Peace!

CIY MOVE: Day 2

Tuesday, July 15th, 2008   Uncategorized

Today, our students are learning about the Holy Spirit.

Texts:
Acts 1:1-11 – The Holy Spirit is promised by Christ.
Acts 2:1-13 – The Holy Spirit comes as promised.
Acts 2:14-36 – Peter preaches at Pentecost.
Acts 2:37-41 – People respond to the Holy Spirit and the gospel.
Acts 10: 44-48 – The Holy Spirit falls on the Gentiles.

Bottom Line: The Holy Spirit gives us the power to MOVE.

Jesus promised His Spirit. His Spirit is what ignited the church in Acts, and the same Spirit is what comes in power in His church today. The Holy Spirit gives us the power to MOVE. When the Holy Spirit MOVES the church follows, causing people to reach across lines of gender, race and economy. The church exploded when the Holy Spirit did things that couldn’t be attributed to mere men. When the Holy Spirit MOVES, we Move.

CIY Day One: We’re Off!

Monday, July 14th, 2008   Uncategorized

Hello Readers.

I am currently away at the Christ in Youth Summer Conference, but every day this week, you will be getting a sneak peek into the lives of our students as we journey to the 2008 Christ in Youth Summer Conference entitled “MOVE”.

Today is a pretty light day as far as teaching goes, but a heavy day for traveling and adjusting to a different time zone and college campus. For some of these students, it’s the very first time they’ve done this.

Please pray for these students that God will open their minds and hearts to what He has in store for them this week. Pray they will have fun and make new friends. We’ll see you tomorrow.

Hey,
If your name is Steve, Kaitlin, Jamie, Nick, or Lindsay, then I have your Spirit Song Ticket in my hands at this moment, and you need to meet me on Saturday Morning at the church at 9:30am so that we can journey to King’s Island for the day. Oh yeah, and you need to bring or wear a swimsuit for the water rides which I will make you get on!

If you didn’t talk to me previously, you should have so that we could’ve gone to the park together. Bummer!
