The second volume of the Illuminator should be hitting your mailboxes in a couple of days. This Newsletter is designed to give you info on upcoming events in 2009 as well as highlight some of the changes that will be going into effect this year. The youth website will feature all of the news in a couple of weeks, but if you’re a subscriber, you’ll get the news in the Illuminator before anyone else does!

Our youth group has just finished making its very own feature length film. It is entitled Lord of the Wings and is indeed a spoof of JRR Tolkein’s Lord of the Rings. Here are a few screenshots to wet your appetite!
The film follows the adventures of young Frito Saggins and his best friend Sam Gangrene as they undertake a magical quest from the Brooklyn Fairy to rid the world of the Wings of Power. Along the way they are beset by strange challenges and characters as well as the Mysterious Anti-Fairy.
Lord of the Wings clocks in at 35 minutes long and is separated into three parts. The DVD will include the trailer for the film as well as a Blooper / Extended Scene Reel. It will be available starting in October for a $5.00 suggested donation.
Part One has already made its debut at NEXUS in August.
Part Two will debut at the Fall Youth Kickoff on September 20th.
Part Three and the Blooper/Extended Reel will then air September 28th at NEXUS.
For those of you wondering, yes I am still alive and well, and back from Vacation! Time to get after it. Look for some brand new news coming this week to this website!
