Here are some details about what happens at Amelia Student Ministries in addition to our 10:30am Sunday morning worship experience.
Sunday Nights @ 6pm
Acts 2:44 says, “All the believers were together and had everything in common.” Basically, Sunday nights are a chance to just hang out and have fun with other students. We believe that the more students hang out with other Christians, the more likely they are to have things in common. The first part is just chill time. We play games and really connect with each other over chips and pop. Then we break into a devotional and learn about how the Bible actually effects our lives until 7:30pm. It’s important to know why we believe what we do, but it is just as important to know how to live it out and that we aren’t alone in what we believe, and that is what we try to accomplish here.
God speaks to us through the Bible, so in order to better understand what He is saying, we study the Bible.
A few ways we study the Bible are:
- what the Bible means, word by word
- what the Bible says about specific subjects
- how current culture (games, music, movies, etc.) applies to our understanding of the Bible
Regardless of how we look at the Bible each week, we always talk about how it applies to our lives and our relationship with Jesus.
