Youth Programs
NEXUS
Nexus picks up right where we left off in 2008. Season II begins on January 25th, at 6:30pm. Episode One will be all about rebuilding the walls of your life and will feature special guest: Nehemiah and musical guests: Building 429. All new videos and crazy contests will make this a night to remember and we will unveil the newest game to our library, Guitar Hero World Tour, featuring guitar, bass, drums, and vocals. Can you take on the ACC Worship Team and beat their high score? Come on out January 25th and find out.
Connect Coffeehouse
Our Connect Coffeehouse will resume on March 1st at 6:00pm and will feature an evening of relaxation, games, and conversation…in short, a chance to “connect” with those around you and with each other through fellowship in Christ. Connect will feature a full service coffee lounge, complete with all the coffee and pop you can drink. Tables will be set-up with games and conversation cards so that you can relax and have a great time with friends. Live music and comedians will be featured on certain evenings as well as a talent night. Connect will run on selected Sunday evenings from 6pm to 9pm.
Home Skillet
Home Skillet is a home Bible study where we dig into God’s word and discover its relevance for our lives today. Each Home Skillet Meeting will be held at a youth sponsor’s home and are usually held when we do not offer Nexus or Connect. At Home Skillet, we will discuss certain passages of scripture or biblical ideas that are uncertain or tough to grasp in today’s culture and we’ll see exactly what God’s Word says as we marinade and sautee each passage together. Home Skillet begins at 7:00pm. The next Home Skillet will be January 11th at the Morrissey’s House.
S.P.A.M.
Seriously Pondering All of the Message is what we do on Sunday Mornings at 10:10 am. We study different parts of the Bible and how we can take or apply it to our own lives. These lessons are usually in-depth, but they reveal the truth about God’s Word in a way that is easy to understand and grasp. Our current study series is called “The Lion, the Fire, and the Dreamer,” and is a study revolving around the Old Testament book of Daniel.
Nitro
Nitro is designed with one purpose in mind: fellowship. We get together on certain Mondays of every month and enjoy some time of just hanging out. We play games, watch movies, and even invent wild and crazy things to do. This allows us to expend energy in a healthy environment with others. The next Nitro will be held February 16th at the church and will be the 2nd Annual Halo 3 Tournament.
Phenomenon
Phenomenon is exactly what the name insinuates: a Phenomenon. These events are held at random times throughout the year and can include anything from Lock-ins, Service Projects, Fundraisers, or other events. They are usually announced two to three weeks in advance, but can be as spontaneous as two or three days. You never know when one will strike!
Other Programs
From time to time we will take trips to conferences such as Christ in Youth Summer Conference, Ohio Teens For Christ, or Acquire the Fire. These conferences are scheduled at least six months in advance and will have their own special web pages when we do go to them. Check the bar at the top of this page to see if an event is coming soon.
